She was awarded by Sangeet Natak Academy Award, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan by the Indian government. Begum Akhtar was given the title of Mallika-e-Ghazal (Queen of Ghazals).   2. Talat Mahmood: Talat Mahmood was considered as one of the greatest male Indian non-classical and semi-classical singers. Apart from ghazal Talat also sang film songs. He was known as ShahenShah-e-Ghazal. He was one of the best ghazal singers in Lucknow. 
  3. Pradeep Srivastava: Pradeep Srivastava a Ghazal Singer from Kanpur of Uttar Pradesh and have been singing ghazal from last two decades. He has performed on many professional platforms.
  4. Dr. Hari OM IAS: Dr. Hari Om was born in a village in Sultanpur of Uttar Pradesh. He is an IAS and has served as DM of 11 districts of Uttar Pradesh. He is one of the best singers, poets and lyricists of India. He has sung many ghazals which covers range of emotions. Hari Om has been awarded by many awards in Singing.
