Hindi Writers of Uttar Pradesh Who Are Known Worldwide

The largest populated state of the country Uttar Pradesh has been the hub of many Hindi writers like Bhartendu Harishchandra, Munshi Premchand, Mahadevi Verma, Srikant Verma and poets like Suryakant Tripathi ‘Nirala’, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Sumitra Nandan Pant, Mahavir Prasad Dwivedi and Upendranath ‘Ashk’ gave a new dimension and rise to literature in the biggest populated state of the country. 

There are various popular Hindi writers born in Uttar Pradesh who have contributed a lot in the Indian literature. Many writers in Uttar Pradesh have contributed a lot to the country. Top Hindi writers of Uttar Pradesh are given as under;

Munshi Premchand 

Munshi Premchand was a famous Indian writer known for his modern Hindi-Urdu literature in the country. He is one of the most celebrated writers of the country. His pen was "Nawab Rai", by which he started his writings. Premchand was not only novel writer and story writer but also a dramatist. He has been referred to as the "Emperor among Novelists" by writers in India. He wrote numerous numbers of novels, more than 250 short stories, many essays and translations of hundreds of foreign literary works.



Kuber Nath Rai

Kuber Nath Rai was also one of the famous Hindi writers. He was born in a village of Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh, India. He got his early education at the same village where he was born. After his early education he did his matriculation from Varanasi and after that for higher education he got admission in Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Kuber Nath Rai was a very strong academician. As an academician he started his career with Vikram Vishvavidyalaya but after a short period of time Rai moved to Nalbari, Assam as a lecturer of English literature and afterwards got retirement from Swami Sahajanand Mahavidyalaya as its principal.



Kashinath Singh

Kashinath Singh, an Indian writer and scholar born in Uttar Pradesh of Hindi language and known for writing novels and short stories in Hindi. Formerly a professor of Hindi literature in Banaras Hindu University, he had written many short stories. Kashinath Singh had been awarded by Kendra Sahitya Academy Award in 2011 for his novel Rehan Par Ragghu. 
Recently he had received 'Bharat Bharti Award', the state's highest literary award in the field of literature which was given by government of Uttar Pradesh.

Dr. Hari Om 

Dr. Hari Om is a very famous writer and a poet, he is also a popular ghazal singer and above all he is an IAS officer in Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Hari Om has written many books and has sung many romantic ghazals and songs. He is known worldwide for his famous collection of poetry.
